Accord shakes when i put Brakes
My 97' accord starts to shake slightly when i put on the brakes. Before my mechanic replaced the brakes themselves and that fixed the problem for a bit, but it came back again. He says he doesnt know whats wrong and how to REALLY fix it.
Does someone know or had the same problem and fixed it??
Should i go to a Honda dealer??
If someone did have the same problem i'd like to know so i can tell the mech's what it might be instead of them looking around and charging me a fortune in labor costs.
~Thx

Ive got a 96 coupe with the same issue, but its only at expressway speeds. Ive got 17in rims tho, I think the problem is the wheels/tires arent balanced correctly. I would recommend trying that.
Your rotors have warped. A condition of several causes; but the most common is the uneven tightening of the lug nuts.
Your one course of action has two ways to accomplish it.
1) remachine the rotors off the car or
2) regrind the rotors on the car
if they've been remachined prior, they should be checked for thickness. If they're below spec they will require replacing.

if it shakes when braking u most likely have warped rotors ,,,,,,,,,, go on a clear road, go to speed where problem normally occurs at, but instaed of braking via the pedal just use the e-brake ,,if it shakes u could have rear rotors ( drums ) warped.....if it is ok by using e-brake, than i would have the frt rotors checked for warpage ,,they could be machined if thick enough if not u might have to install new rotors,, Also chk for any loose suspension parts,, ( inner + outer tie rods ) ball joints, etc etc ...
