Well, my glass has been fixed to my hartop and had two questions for you guys. My first is that I got quoted $515 dollars for the install of my top through my Honda dealer.
Which I think for some reason is a whole lottta money just to put the top on. I understand some panels need to be removed in the interior and some misc. wiring need to be connected but $515, seems like a whole lotta loot for a top install.

Second, I was wondering if I should paint my roof Berlina black. I have a CF hood on now and was wondering on how it would look with the black roof on. Not asking you guys if I should do it......I can make that decision, just on how you guys would think it would look.

Which roof are you talking about? You mean painting your hood? I'm assuming the HT came in Berlina?

I've always been a fan of matching stuff. If you're gonna paint it, paint the whole thing. If its bare CF, leave everything bare CF.

 

The roof is Sebring Silver like my car. The Top Secret hood is still in its original CF state, unpainted.
The car looks good with the CF hood and then the black soft top as well as the black taped A pillars. I don't know if the car will still flow as well when they put on the hardtop in Silver and then remove the black tape from the A pillars.

I've seen a couple full silverstones/sebrings that looks pretty nice. It's up to your taste. I'd say make your hardtop match your car. A CF hood would go with pretty much anything.


Its the only Sebring I could find with an HT and a CF hood. I stole it from the "Clean S2k" thread.

you should take off the a pillar tape once the hardtop is on, all in all looks good

 

hardtopguy charges $150 for the install.

i bet if your local dealer does it you get a **** ton of wind noise cuz they have no idea WTF there doin.

No way does it cost that much to install.

I'm sure you and a buddy can figure it out, it's pretty simple. If not I wouldnt pay over $150.00 at a shop for them to do it for you. Just my 2 cents

 

sounds asswipe and totally useless post, but over here the price of the hardtop includes the install, went I told them I'd do it myself, the price went down considerably..

 

JUst dropped the car off 10 minutes ago. I would've done it with Y2K but I had no way of getting the hardtop home from Honda.

 

It may be too late for you, but Hardtopguy.com delivered and installed mine for a price way below that of the dealer. Plus he's in Ohio and I'm in Connecticut. I was very, very impressed.

 

On top of ALL the BS........the top was used and the guy I bought it from forgot to send the hardware that was already on the car.

Honda does not sell the kit seperately, only with the hartop.

Well. I found it on Hardtop GUy for an amazing cost of $449.

With everthing I have spent on the OEM one, I could've had the Mugen CF one right now.

let's be clear...Honda CAN supply those seperately.............all it takes is a little time and effort.........the rest is BS (how do you think the hardtopguy get's em?, f-king santa claus?)

I'm sure they do...it was like the whole rear window experience. I'm not exactly a "four leaf clover" by all means. When I told you guys I have "BAD LUCK" with all my cars, I meant it. Real close to selling the car while i'm ahead,(actually behind but you get the idea) while I can.
