Default Oil Dipstick - Couldn't find a specific topic in search

I know this may be nothing, but I figured I would ask anyways, I have searched, but couldn't find anything pertaining to my issue.

The "Issue":
Any car I have ever checked the oil on (my old chevy van, my previous hondas, my corolla, etc.) has had just a tiny bit of oil on the dipstick just to coat it and showt he level. This is normal.

My newly swapped z6, however, reads correctly as far as oil lever, but it has an excessive amount of oil on the dipstick when it comes out of the block. It is to the point that it actually drips on the way out.

I don't know why this might happen, but it is sort of annoying because it drips on to my header, and that doesn't smell good for the time it takes to burn off.

Before anyone jumps to conclusions, it isn't due to overfilling the engine with oil, in fact, the engine is low on oil due to a leak from the drain plug on the oil pan (happened during swap, haven't had time to replace it.) I have been keeping oil in the car when I have to drive it.

Im going to assume you pull it out first wipe it off then recheck the level, assuming that mine drips too when I pull it out as well to check mine, propably because the oil is still fresh and a lower weight than what your ussed to?

As far as I know thats perfectly normal.

Please read the thread. I am not asking question directly, its more of an observation with an obviously implied question that would be something like this:
"Is there anything that could have gone wrong to cause my dipstick to have so much oil on it when I pull it out?"

There is nothing that says the thread must include a question explicitly.

I don't know, the weight hasn't changed since I swapped motors, I buy the same oil in 5 quart jugs each time.

I do this:
Pull it, wipe it, dip it, pull again (drip drip drip), check, wipe, dip, pull (drip drip drip), check, put it back and go.

I know it may drip a little normally, but it is excessive. I don't have my digicam right now or I would take a pic to show you what I mean.

I don't really think it is anything to worry about, I simply posted to see if it might be something slightly off with my pan or something. Who knows.

If you could take a picture of how thick were talking here i could give you a better answer.

But depending on the weight of the oil, like said, it would show thicker or lesser on the stick. A 20w will show alot more then a 5w. Get what im saying? But you used the same weight everytime for all cars? Also how cold is it where your at, that could have something to do with it too (not sure what to tell you but i know it changes).

the dipstick probably has a coat of "something" on it.

At work, when i check the oil dipstick on Infinitys, i have to spray some RainX on it to get an accurate reading. The rainX acts like a wax and the oil just slides right off but i can still get the reading.
