well after enough ups and downs trying to keep the CB7 alive i finally decided to buy a car. i had my eyes on a teg,but chose a 4dr since ima need the space. ima go jdm on the fronts, but i wanna hear suggestions on work under the hood. i know i wont find a GSR or an ITR,so what model teg could i buy, that'll have potential to be upgraded?

i'm guessing you're looking into getting a 94-01 integra. you can get a ls or gs model if you can't find a gsr for 4dr integras. i think all 94-01 integra models can make pretty good power and parts can be found for a really good price. just make sure you get that jdm front end.

you can get a 4dr gsr, they are not as popular but they are out there.

If you cant find that you can get a RS/LS/GS, they all have the same motor (b18b non-vtec) From there you can eother build the motor any way you want, or you can go for a swap to a GSR motor and trans.

Im not a big fan on the 4door integra's. But I always did like them with the JDM front end conversion.

You might have a hard time finding a 4door gsr for sale.

ITR 4 dr is out of the question. GSR is not out of the question, they are around, just a bit harder to find.

the others go in order of RS, LS. All of these have the same motor b18b (gsr is b18c) 1.8l non-vtec DOHC.

RS is the "stripped" down model. power windows, AC and a few other bits. LS is more power stuff and CD, GS is leather (?) and some other options. I personally dont see to many GS around. Maybe it was only a 1 or 2 year car not quite sure.

DOHC is dual over head cams. and you must know what vtec is???

all of the USDM integras hav had DOHC, 93 was the first time we save vtec, even since then you have been able to get an integra with vtec or not, but they are all DOHC.

If you go with a vtec expect to pay alot more for aftermarket part for you motor. B18A/B parts are pretty cheap and the motor is a good platform to start with. Also if you get an integra built after 93 you better get a good alarm system in it because they are one of the most stolen cars.

They either bought a GSR, or they just did a swap. Any b series motor will swap right in. You could even swap in a SOHC or a H22 if you wanted.

Also a lot of guys are doing LS/vtec. That is a LS block with a GSR head. Do a search for it, you will find thousandr os threads about it. Basically you are mixing a good strong bottom end, with the better flowing head, that also hase vtec.
