Id say its fine...if the plastic is still connected somewhere on the injector and u make sure its not gonna fall off...u could probably for real put superglue or epoxy on top of the crack and it would be fine..as long as the innards of the injector arent messed up.

My primair concern is the plastic coming off and getting into the combustion chamber.

If you friend removed this section completely, I'm wondering what the purpose of that pastic is?
