SERIOUSLY!!! WTF!!!! Brakes are SOFT
ok.. I have a 1992 Integra GS-R w/ABS. I changed my brake master cylinder because it was leaking. Here is exactly what I did:
1. Removed old MC
2. Bench Bled New Autozone MC
3. Removed the brake booster line that goes from the intake manifold to the brake booster (removed for more room and clearance to work)
4. Installed New MC
5. Connected and tightened brake line fittings.
6. Bled all 4 brake calipers in proper order, Never let the MC Resevoir go empty.
Brakes work barely. Very soft.
So I thought there was still more air in the brake lines, so I bled the lines again.
Again, brakes are still soft.
So I bleed the lines again.. And Again, the Brakes are still SOFT!!!
So I have bled the system 3 times so far. And the brakes are still soft. (I have gone through 2 1/2 BIG bottles of Valvoline Syn Brake Fluid.
Well I thought maybe I screwed up bench bleeding and installation of the NEW MC. So I disconnected the brake line fittings and Bench Bled the MC while it was on the car. Plugged the ends and ran tubing the way it supposed to be done just like it was off the car in a bench.
I installed the brake lines again, and bled each caliper again. I used up another 1 1/2 big bottles of brake fluid. There were no bubbles visible when i was done with each caliper. I made sure of that, and did each caliper 2 more times after there were no bubbles visible.
And once again, THE BRAKE PEDAL IS STILL SOFT!!!!!!!!!
Seriously, WTF am I doing wrong????? Anyone??? PLEASE HELP ME.. I am gonna run my car off a cliff.. this **** is pissing me off!!!!

I know a little about the brake system but does the size of the mc make a differance? Umm isnt there also something called a brake booster, maybe that needs checking... sorry i couldnt help much
well the master cylinder is supposed to be for my car. Atleast thats what was supposed to be order from autozone??
I checked the brake booster, and seems to be working the same way it was before i changed my MC. Seems to be good.

I am having a similar problem with my 94 GSR. When I am sitting still, like at a stop light, the brake pedal will just lose some pressure and my car sometimes even starts to roll. It happens mostly on warm days. I have also bled my brake system several times.

i was having that problem too.. thats why I changed my Master Cylinder because that is what is causing the brake pedal to fade at stop lights.

i didnt think so. ive bleed th brakes before and they've worked perfect.
I hope its not a bad MC, because i've wasted $20 just buying brake fluid already..

Did you check for any leanks anywhere??? When you are bleading the brakes, do you pump they a few times before you open the bleeder?? I read that can help push air to the top also.

ive tried pumping the brakes 10 times with the bleeder screw closed, then opening it and allowing fluid and air to come out. I would do that like 5 or 6 times per caliper.
And I've also used a 1 man bleeder kit and come up with the exact same results.
Unless bleeding the brakes with the car running, but i dont know.. I've never heard or read about that anywhere..
It feels like when I push the brake pedal down, there is nothing happening until about half way.

just long enough to let the air and bubbles out.
Ok, I've been driving around all day.. and there are brakes.. but the brakes don't start to make contact untill i push the pedal about 3/4 of the way down.
what can i do to fix this???
does the rod coming out of the brake booster have anything to do with that???
