Default Wiring in an IACV. Jacked DPFI-MPFI wiring harness. Need to fix it.

I have no idea whats up with this wiring harness. It works. It throws no codes except code 14. Idle Air Control Valve. I look on the back of the motor. Nothing.

There was no plug going into the IACV. I have the engine harness out and there is no wiring for it either. I am looking for blue/yellow and yellow black. I found the yellow black but it goes into the resistor box wiring so not sure if this is the correct one!!

I am wondering if there is a way around this. if I can hard wire it up. Any ideas input??

Its an 89 Civic DX with LS swap. Motor runs fine except for this.

okay well I can't find any wiring anywhere!! So now I'm going to rig one up.

I'm making it go from a2 (blk/ylw) to IACV and a11 (blue/yellow) to IACV, like another subharness.

In slot a11 there is wiring there that is blue/yellow but in my engine harness there are no such wires. There aren't even extra wires!!

After reading through the manual I notice the black/yellow wire is a 12v wire. and the blue/yellow goes to a11.

The only thing in between was the IACV

After hooking black/yellow up to c15 on my ecu connector and hooking blue/yellow up to a11 this is what I got...

Revs shot way up and then stayed the same. They must have been sitting between 3500 and 4500 rpms. (I don't have a tachometer)

After I drove for awhile the car reached operating temp this is what happened..

Revs bounced. Not as aggressive as before. but bounced probably 700 - 1500 rpms.

End result. I did not throw a code!! That is good or bad. haha.

I think I did the wiring right. I never did try a2, I will try that tomorrow with more light to work with.

I also need to fill and bleed the coolant. Double check vacuum lines and put on my TB gasket haha been rolling around with liquid gasket in there.

Hoping one of these will solve my problems.

Any ideas why the idle would shoot way up at first?

dood, this is gonna help me out alot. I been throwing code 14 for months but I just said *** it. Theres a wire coming from the ECU but just 1 and it doesnt get any power. The IACV is pluged in with that wire that follows to the ecu. It only has bouncy idle when I hold the gas at any RPM otherwise it just idles just fine.

Shane, you did the right thing by wiring up the sensor that way. The eacv has to be in your harness some place, it should be near the IAT in a dx harness.

Did you read through your Service Manual? It'll say to check for a certain amount of ohms (don't remember off the top of my head) in the IACV/EACV. I'm guessing thats your problem since you have wiring hooked up.

Ryan,
Yup I took apart the entire engine harness with no luck. There was no wiring for it at all!! I was confused as hell. Looking through the Service Manual it stated to check for loose wires at the c313 connector which is driver side main harness connector. I'm guessin thats where these wires go to. Checked there but once again no wires matching the the black/yellow and blue/yellow.

Do you know where the IACV wiring goes on the shock tower plugs? Perhaps mine are there but dude crossed wiring or something. I have a spare dpfi engine harness but not around me so I can't compare at the moment.

Did I do the dpfi to mpfi?? If I did I sometimes use the Tandem valve wire for the Eacv/Iacv plug (orange and blk/ye)... But If I swap it I label it. The tandem valve, and the Iacv wiring is all in the drivers side 14 pin connector. Possibly the person that did yours is clever like me, and swapped the pins??

I believe you need to re-connectorize the old tandem valve plug on your DX harness, assuming you were DPFI.

I think the colors are orange and blk/yel, but don't quote me on that one...I need a real chart to verify this.

Ryan is right, it should be right in that area of the harness-

edit...you beat me to it

Perhaps the tandem valve was rewired but seriously there were no extra wires at all in the engine harness.

I thought perhaps I hooked up the IAT sensor but its not melted so its not that. (the IAT plastic will melt if hooked up wrong)

there were no other plugs, no other wiring in the engine harness. I took apart the entire engine harness.

I wired it up and its not throwing a code. Just have an off idle now that is irritating as hell I think its TB gasket.
