Default Boosting your ITR

Before I get the search dumb response.

I searched both archived and recent, and this all I could come up with. So let's get an informative thread started, or link me to one.

Im thinking of starting another project, and I want an ITR. I know most ITR guys are track freaks. AutoX and Road Racing. Well I want to build my car for the drag strip/street. How do stock ITR motors hold up with boost? Are there specific kits for them..All information will be needed for this build.

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1024174 covers a whole lot, sorry but itr motor isn't that very special, its just like boosting any other honda. as for compression, you're taking more risk of course boosting a motor with higher compression..

3 things important when going turbo on honda:

1. have the money to rebuild the motor
2. if you dont have the money, then do something else
3. if you do have the money, then get a good tune, any kit will do the job, major role is turbo size (will depend on hp goal), manifold (one piece for reliability race style for hp), wastegate (external and good quality will assist in better boost control), boost controller (a good make will assist in getting that hp desired, some have features to help keep boost level more stable throughout the powerband)

all other parts will determine reliability factor, intercooler (you want your air to stay cool but any of them (if not all that included w/ turbo kits) will do the job until you nee a whole lot more hp, assembly your lines correctly, good tuning software will help with reliability, blow off valves are also improtant, and last the way you drive, do maintainance and pay attention to everything.

So, even though I've indicated a whole forum dedicated to this topic ... your seem to think the ITR forum is the seat of wisdom in this respect.

Not only that, but you know there's the rest of the internet world outside of H-T. <sigh>

The above members summed it up.

If you're going to ask a specific question, please feel free to make a new thread.

However, if you're looking for the basics, they're covered in many places on this website. I recommend searching for a while in the Forced Induction forum.
