Default Oil Pan removal

Do I need to remove the flywheel access plate in order to remove the oil pan? Reason being is because one of my bolts to the access plate is really stripped badly and I can't remove it.

Also, I should be okay pounding the dents out of my oil pan right?

What kind of motor is it?

If its a D-series you have to remove the bolts holding it in. They also hold the oil pan in place, there not bolts so much as studs. The third one goes to the block and has to be removed along with the plate because it sits on the pan and will be in the way.

It's an auto D15b7.

Aww Hell. Looks like I'm going to have to buy me a Dremel tool to grind that bolt out. I can't drop the tranny because of that too.

Yea, you want to remove the stud completly tho because its going to have to be replaced, if not you MAY have a leak from that area.
