Default JDM courtesy light

I think I heard prelude has it, and I always wanted a a courtesy/entry light by the door. Well, soundz pointless for some of you, but it does give a little luxury sense of prelude.

And yea, no more "watch your feet when you getting out"

they had 'em.

you can retrofit something generic, I'll bet. buy a couple of dome lights and wire them in.

Yes they do. I have a set of JDM door panels with the light assemblys. I wonder if the Prelude is already pre-wired for the lights.. Anyone know?

where would be a good place to splice in wires when doing a retro-fit? are there any wires closer/lower than the dome lights on the ceiling? i would buy SH doors from a junk yard, but here aren't any 5th gens in junk yards around here yet.

i doubt there are any wires that will only be hot when the door is open down there....but im sure the door switch is a ground when its closed, so you could draw up a circuit, probably using a relay, and run an always hot wire to it, and then have it be reverse-ground switched....though that could get a bit messy

it probably is just easier to run a wire from the dome light....

4th gen JDM has the courtesies, they are exactly same as 5th gen USDM, but not red, just white.

The panel is a bit different (door panel), the courtesies are a bit inside panel.

Preludes non-JDM are not prewired.
