Default Kteller exhaust problem

Have a slight problem with my new 3" Kteller exhaust. This is where the pipes are suppose to slip over each other and attatched with the clamp. The 2 pipes are both the same diameter. Guess they weren't flared. What do I need to do? Where could I take it to have this fixed?

Take it to a muffler shop and ask them to flare it or weld it on for you?

That looks stainless. Most muffler shops cant weld that. But they can flare it out without a problem.

flaring shouldnt be hard for any muffler shop. Take it to them and ask. Last time I need one flared, the shop near me did it for free.

Just push real hard.

Seriously, like the others said, take it to any local muffler shop. They will flare it for you no problem. I had to do that for a piece of piping as well a few years ago.

As Long as the aft pipe gets flared to fit over the forward pipe, it shouldn't leak, am I right?

no they wouldnt leak...

i cant tell by the pictures which side or section you posted. but try to take a clean stait and make sure that they are indeed not flared. thats odd cause most are preflared before they are bents. sometimes ppl need to clean or use sandpaper around the edges to help get them to slip into each other. they are basically flared very minimal to help from moving or leakage.. a .25" of flare or so..

let me know via pm and if the shop does charge you, please pm me the cost and well help you with that!

the slip is so the length is adjustable, thats the advantage over flanges.

i would throw the smaller end into a freezer or large bucket of iced salt water, for about 10 minutes, then simultaneously heat up the larger end gfor the last minute or two with a propane torch.

this will expand the larger end and contract the smaller. see if that works first.
