I'm just wonder not only about the mounts but also the way that the computer would control it. I would think it would work but it would be a concern that the OBD0 ECU might not run the OBD2 tranny

The OBD2 transmissions have shift solenoids for all the gears, and won't do much without a transmission control unit, or TCU. The OBD1 and OBD0 only have one interaction with the ecu, and that's the torque converter lockup solenoid. Different mounting possibilities aside, that thing will be pissed without the TCU.

You get an A for effort though! I wonder if you could implement the TCU, and make it programmable and fun stuff. Paddle shift, y0.
