jdm ys-1 trans..whats it out of...will it fit my car? also anyone with a trans swap other than LS ch
a buddy of mine wants to sell me a YS-1 cable trans off a b16 hmotors swap. he said it came off an integra XSi.
thats the JDM DA6 b16 integra no? i've heard that its LSD..but i'd like confirmation..
i've got a 90 integra LS for the record..i'd be getting it for a pretty damn good deal and i figure it'd be a cheap upgrade..i have a cable trans as well if i'm not mistaken? what would would i need to swap everything over? how much could I get for my LS trans?
anyone have this trans or any transmission on their stock/near stock LS? whats the car feel like? any quicker?

I have the jdm ys-1 in my 91 teg with an ls motor. You will need a clutch from a 92 and up teg to accomidate the larger spline on the ys-1. Other than that it will drop right in. The gearing is much shorter and it keeps you in your powerband much better than the ls, thus making you car accelerate faster. Def pick it up if you get a good deal on it
actually the tranny isnt gonna necessarily make ur cart any faster. sure the gears are shorter but if ur car is unmodified then ur porolly takin the car to about 7 grand correct? so wit the b16 tranny ur car is gonna get to that 7 grand quicker but its gonna be movin at a slower speed. reason bieng that these trannys are deigned for motors wit a higher rpm. and i know that many people are gonna probably disagree but its true. jus my opinion
