I just got my headlights worked on, but I noticed that the clearcoat is peeling off on some parts.

I was told that the clearcoat is pretty much worthless. My only other option besides cleaning them properly is the replace the lens itself.

Honestly, I just don't want to mess anything up by sanding, etc.

What do you guys think would be the best route?

 

wetsand the clear off n buff it out. itll shine like new.

Any more info with that? Will sanding damage the headlights at all?

I was thinking 2000 grit wet sand paper, and a lot of polishing.

 

sanding will NOT damage plastic headlight lenses. u can buff it out. if u have a machine buffer, u can wetsand it with 1000 grit.

 

Wonder if this will do the trick for the buffing / polishing part.
