Default 91 CRX Si d15b swap problem CEL 43 and fuel in the eye

I have a CRX and it took me forever but I finally got my d15b SOHC VTEC motor in and i got it running for a little bit, but i got a CEL code 43. I checked the timing and re aligned it, its damn close to TDC. I can feel the difference in power, the car actally gets up and moves, as opposed to before. but now , the car sputters and spits a little bit of smoke. IT STINKS LIKE FUEL and EXHAUST. i think i need to replace the exhaust gaskets , but i dont know what to account for the fuel smell... i took apart the fuel rail, and cleaned off the injectors and i ruined one of the O-rings and when my bro started the car, it sprayed go go juice right in my eye, ha. so i replaced it, but its still jazzed up... no CEL though, andybody have problems like this? any help would be appreciated

Put a timing light on it man. Things like that can only be guesstimated after it's right.

Code 43=fuel supply system.

Could be fuel injector, injector resistor, pressure regulator, fuel filter, fuel pump, main relay, contaminated fuel.

It should be one of this.

i took a look at the injectors and they seemed fine. I re did the timing and I got the car running, i drove it to work and it broke down literally 12 times... I unplugged the distributor and plugged it back up and the car made it a few miles, then i would get a CEL and the car would stall. i got a code 16 , 43 and one more. this is retarded and i got 10 miles to the gallon. god damnit, has anybody had similar problems?
