Default Tokcio Shocks came in! Questions - is this a problem?

Hey guys whats up,

My Tokcio HP Blues finally came in the mail!

Anyway, I have a few questions,

With the coilovers lowerd all the way, it looks like the bumpstop is too large,
is this a problem, how would I fix it? even tho, I wont daily drive it lowerd 4" but 2.5 or 3" daily.

Also, When I raise the coilovers, Should I keep the bottom metal part down and just raise the top metal peice or do I raise both parts, Thanks,

Also, I have 4 coilovers,

Here are the pics,

Just a few things laying around

The car (I know but its my project, got it for $650 cash, W/K&N SRI, Magna Flow and 6puck stage 3 clutch. Not too bad.

4X4 No More!!!

Broke another axle (second one in one month)

My fish love Honda too!

thanks, Later

first of all, if you ride that low, youll kill the blues. they arent really meant for coilovers in the first place. if you really need more suspension travel, you could cut the bumpstops to your liking.

i have never had coilovers like that, but im pretty sure both metal pieces have to be together so that they will lock into place an not spin freely.

in all actuality you should have got the EF shocks....they are slightly shorter up front and maybe a inch shorter in the back https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1421917 . you also need to cut your bumpstops in half. i cut my back ones in half and removed the front ones, because i got different bumpstops with my coilovers. goodluck though

shouldnt take that long....just be aware that the rear shock bolts might be seized. BTW what are the rates on those springs?

just take it off.. use some good rope and tie those suckers up.. just stand clear tho.. not a big problem.. buy the tool though.. dont pay a shop to do it.. cheaper to buy the tool.

or just go to autzone.. $12.99 i think.. they aint expensive..

id come help you out tonight, but i just changed my master cylinder and dont have brakes, and its too dark and im tired and hungry to keep working on it.

ya... getting late.. you probably got school in the morning.

no rush.. do it right..

i rushed my brake master cylinder install tonight, and now i have no brakes.. but i think it was because my friend didn't do what i told him.

lol.. thats ok though.. i got nothing to do tomorrow.

good luck with it.. and yeah.. dont lower too much.. you'll blow those shocks, and you wont maximize the shocks performance. lower 2 inches max.

my friend blew his blues in 2 days when he slammed his EK. i have blues on my car with my garbage *** skunk2 springs. my car sits at a perfect height, but the ride is EXTREMELY bouncy. also i am not completely sure, but i dont think my bumpstops were that big. ??

you can go low, but id say not over 2-2.25 inchs...because all those shocks are are stock replacements. you also have to put into play the rates of those springs, i blew my stocks ones shortly after i installed my coilovers because the rates were (450f/350r)

Meh, people here talk **** about blues a lot, I don't know why. The blues run fine on SKcivics H&R race springs, which around 2.25" drop. He's had them for more than a year now, not even a sign of problems, and it rides great to boot.

I never got to see the longevity of them, but when I had my del sol, I had blues all around with skunk2 coilovers lowered around 2" and they rode fine as well. I only had the car for about 6 months but they also did not show any signs of problems.

IMO you made a good purchase if you aren't looking to go all out with your suspension setup.

i know this. but ive been in a dozen lowered cars; mine hands down rides the worst out of all them, no contest. i dont understand. one thing is that the front springs are very soft. wtf? and the design of the front ones are nowhere near the same as the stock springs. its probably because theyre designed for my car AND an EF

I have blues also but have Tenzo R lowering springs and my car's suspension is too soft......any speedbump or pothole can feel like the whole motor is falling out sometimes, lol.

Thanks, Yah I'm ok with a 2", I just dont want the huge wheel gap
Thats what I meant, I wont ride around with it all the way down, thats too low.

And I dont really want a smooth ride, I like riding in lowerd cars that have a
rough/hard ride. I dont know why

Yah, I'm going to have to give in and let youy know I also got Tenzo r coilovers,
It was either those or the $40 cheap cheap ebay ones.

I'm trying to get in touch with the man. in cali, to see the spring rates, He hasnt replyed.

I'lll have to tell him there is a club of 170K people that told me not to buy your coilovers but I did, and that if I dont get the spring rates less people will buy them.

No I'm not looking for an all out susp setup.
Or else I would have saved up for a few more months and gotten,
Koni Yellow/GC setup,

But I am getting swaybars and strut bars, maybe I'll notice a diffrence, we'll see.

I am going boost so thats where the money is going.
