broken into hood latch question
well someone broke into my car the other day and to bypass the alarm they cut the hood latch to get to the battery just wondering if anyone knew the best way to get to the latch from the bumper?
no we wont tell you how to pop someones hood. but we can help you prevent this...
they do sell a bunch of security and alarms that you can help from getting your hood popped. ie. hood switch, relocation cable kit, or you can relocated your cable yourself. theres alot more you can do. but if you really want to know how they popped your hood... retrace your hood latch cable from inside yoru engine bay.

well if anyone eles can understand when you dont have a car to drive to work cuz some ******** decied to break into it and steal all your stuff i just need to know how to open my hood if the latch is broke if you want pm me or email it to me so its not on the interent i just dont wanna get this thing towed for something so stupid
If they cut your cable, just go trace the cable and look for the area they messed with and yank on the cable to pop your hood back up. I did this last year when some ****** decided to cut my cable and pop my hood. Luckly I heard my alarm, and was wondering why i turned off within 5 secs. Look outside, saw plp running away.
To Be safe, relocated your new hood cable, make a metal plate that blocked the latch, and added some razor blades around there ( Teach those ******* a lesson if they try to get to my latch). Add in a BACK UP SIREN, so when they remove your battery, at least your alarm will keep sounding. Won't prevent them to get your car, but at least you can slow them down as much as possible

or do what i did, relocate the battery to your trunk, and add a alternative powerr source somewhere down the power in on your alarm system. Backup power and a relocated battery, have fun car thiefs.

I recently read your article about the problem your car had:
CEL Codes Found:
Code 20: Electrical Load Detector defective circuit or unplugged / defective sensor
Code 41: Primary Oxygen Sensor - Heater circuit malfunction
Code 65: Oxygen Sensor Heater (Secondary) malfunctioning or defective oxygen sensor heater
I was wondering if you could tell me if you ever figured it out? was your ECU fried or was it just the ELD?.... I am asking because my car has the same problem right now because i think i shorted the O2 sensor.

I found the ELD fuse under the dash, it was blown. So i put a new fuse on and it ran fine.
As for the O2 sensor, I bought a new one and replace it.
Resetted the ECU, Everything works fine now.

I ran a secondary speaker (alarm siren) to the inside of my lude along with a strobe light...so even if they cut the main siren underneath the hood the one in the cabin will be blaring in their ears along with the stobe light...and the car jacker will be so freaked out he will prtobably haul ***....LOL

The cable is going to be to the left of the latch. I think its actually behind the vents.....maybe a tad bit lower - but if you can find a way to take those out, you should be able to pull the black cable. I know its cut, but if they didn't cust it all the way you can still do it. There might be a way if you jack up your car....just reach under the bumper and behind the bumper support - feel around for the cable and pull it. OR if they completely took the cable out, you have to manually move the latch.
