First things first, check your brake fluid level both at the master cylinder and the resovoir on the ABS modulator.

Check all the wheel sensors. I believe there is a procedure outlined in the service manual to check the output of the sensors using a digital multimeter.

It could just be one of the sensors, the ABS computer, or the ABS modulator. The modulators cost about $700 rebuilt, by the way. The sensors would be the least expensive item to fix.

I suppose I should have asked this, but when the light comes on, does ABS function? Try to induce an ABS stop while the light is on.

Under the glove compartment is a blue plug that is not plugged into anything. With the switch in the off positioin, bend a paperclip in a U shape and jumper the plug. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position without starting the car. It will blink one time and then there will be a pause. After the pause, it will blink in one second increments. There will be a 5 second pause, and then it will start blinking again. Count the number of blinks in each sequence. That should give you a 2 digit code. There are several threads in this forum that will give you the meaning of each code. Good Luck!
