This just started about a week ago on a trip from Tenn to Atlanta. The first hour was fine driving. Then as I was going about 70 the car sputtered. My foot was still compressed on the gas pedal but for about 4 seconds the rmp engine temp gauge and speed all went down. Almost like the car dies but then after 4 seconds it kicked back in. This continued but the car died about a mile up the road. I let it sit for about 30 min and it started again, but about 15 min later started back up. Thought it was bad gas so I put some mid grade in it and it ran fine for hours. The on the outskirts of atlanta started up again. broke down about 20 times from there in to my house. Trip from hell. Used some carb/fuel inj cleaner, seemed to work a little bit. Then it drove fine for a week with no problems at all. Until tonight when it started up again. Any help would be great if any of you have any ideas. I'm scared it's the carb, hope fuel filter, but would that be sporatic? KEY PROBLEMS, WHILE ACCELERATING ENGINE SPUTTERS, CUTS FOR A FEW SECONDS AND KICKS BACK IN, DIES SHORTLY THERE AFTER, ENGINE TEMP RUNS COLD AND CAN TOUCH THE ENGINE AFTER AN HOUR RUNNING, WARM BUT NOT HOT. HEATER BLOWS COLD FROM 2 MIDDLE VENTS BUT WARM ON SIDE WHEN THIS HAPPENS TOO. HELP!!!!!
