Default flywheel differences

i need to get a new clutch for my jdm ef7 race car , i beleive that the flywhel is an 88-89 asince the clutch contact area is 205mm to suit the 200mm clutch plate of an 88-89 correct? what i need to know is will a clutch intended for an 88-89 d16 or d15 crx fit my flywheel?

yeah, thats correct. but you also have to match up the number of splines on your tranny input chaft. the 88 had a different number than the rest of the later years.

its a 20 splin input shaft not a 21 so im guessing one of thoe 89 90 91 crx all model kits would do the trick?

I fucked this one up and bought a 90-00 clutch kit for my 89 flywheel. Luckilly I had a 94 flywheel sitting around which I used. My advice: Get a flywheel from 90-00 (lightened? ) and buy the kit for it.

I couldn't find a kit for an 89 anyways, it might be filed under 89 integra or something, but yea I just converted to 90+.

For some reason, Honda decided to be weird from 88-90.

88 flywheels: 21 input splines with a clutch size of 200mm
89 flywheels: 20 input splines with a clutch size of 200mm
90 flywheels: 20 input splines with a clutch size of 212mm
91 flywheels: 20 input splines with a clutch size of 212mm

who sells those? Sounds like someone gave out misinformation because an 89 clutch will not worth with a 90 flywheel.

Kinda like how the lug nuts at Checker's said they would work with my civic, which was a bunch of bullshit.

I have an 88 CRX Si so I feel your pain. I ended up building my own clutch kit. I got a kevlar clutch disc from SPEC for an 88 Accord 2.0, 91 CRX Si Action PP, and a flywheel from Evolution Industries for a 90-00 Civic. The throwout bearing and pilot bearing are the same for your year.
