Im changing the clutch and flywheel this weekend. Some questions..
Are there anything i should replace/upgrade while im dropping the tranny? And are there any special tools i need in this process of changing the clutch/flywheel?
Maybe save up some more money and buy a LSD to put in with your other ****. Check change rods and shift linkages to make sure there in good shape.
dont ask this question here, Look up a DIY article and get a HAYNES repair manual because I gurantee you will run into trouble and you dont want to be stuck with your tranny apart and no way to get to the autoparts store.
if its your first time...prepare to deal with seized up ****....like the balljoint not wanting to come out of the lower control arm and ****...you gotta take that castle nut off and pry that **** up and out...itll take a few tries...and putting the axles back through the wheel is a PITA...it will look like it wont want to go back in
just .....
make sure you torque everything to the specs twice!
and id be nice to have :
anti seize
axle seals 2 just in case (u can allways take em back)
and get the manual & some jackstands! ______________ good to go!

thanks for all your inputs guys. I already have the helms manual along with the c-speedracing diy "how to" and all the basic wrenches and so forth. I guess all i need is the torque wrench.
So are there any parts i should replace while im down there? Or just leave em alone?

good luck man, i'll be doing this for the first time here soon as well, i'll have a mechanic by my side though to make sure I dont screw somethin up =P
check all your motor mounts, you will have most of them out so replace them if needed, or get a polyurethane insert, i wish i did when i did mine a few weeks back, all mine are shot and i have to replace every one of them. i also hear that the black super weatherstrip adhesive (comes in an orange tube from autozone) can be used to make really stiff motor mounts, just takes a while for it to dry because they have to be made slowly.
make sure u have a punch set for the shift linkage. and oil for ur air compressor. thats the only 2 things i had to run to Sears to go get when i did my clutch. good luck.
Yeah, you theoretically could pull the tranny off with out removing the shift linkage. I didn't try it on mine because the little pin came out without incident.
