Default Type R exterior conversion (for now)

For now I have decided I want to do a small 1997 Type R conversion to my LS integra (-sunroof). I have just the wing now and I am wondering what else do I need exterior wise to complete the 1997 conversion.

so far- 5 lug, lip, what else.

ps no this is not for rice purposes I plan on swapping a Type R motor in later on when I have more money.

thanks.

Ok, i kinda took it as you thought the ITR's had a sunroof.

There is a thread somewhere in the ITR forum that comaprs just about every difference between an ITR and a GSR. I would say search, but i cant remember the title. Try to do a search and see what you come up with.

It will never be a Type R

Hahahaha......for the outside you need the front lip, sides and rear valences are optional but a very nice touch, R wing, red acura symbols and r decals if your going that far.

You have the 5 lug which is nice but also a stock itr exhaust would be a subtle but nice touch.

Good luck.

You're gonna need to some how weld a piece to the lower sub frame for the lower tie bar the Rs have.

yes....but here's the question though....

Type Rs have different lower control arms in the rear than any other Integra. Would he also need that entire rear subframe from a Type R ( that way he doesn't have to weld those two pieces on but instead weld an entire subframe on ) so that not only can he bolt that OEM lower tie bar, but he can also use the lower control arms as well? Or...can he just bolt on the ITR LCAs without having to do that? I mean...if we're getting into the suspension and all........might as well include the 22mm rear sway bar, front upper strut tower bar, rear upper strut tower bar....have someone measure, and drill holes in the rear of the trunk and then weld on some nuts so that he can bolt on the rear trunk brace.......then either get a template and cut out the holes for that bar or buy the ITR rear trunk panel ( that comes cut )......oooh lotsa stuff and lotsa money to be spent

i second that. It's one thing to put a motor in, but a simple thing as putting the r sticker on is taking it too far. but exterior should be relatively simple to replicate

lip
wing
red A badges
shaved moldings
painted skirts.
5 lug
