A British magazine has shown a similar car, hinting at 220 HP.

Wow that looks hard. It looks more like a custom job to me. Didn't the concept have a center exhaust like that? I also though the Type R was going to be a hatchback? Whatever happened to the concept pictures of the hatchback? I think it was orange or something like that. I wonder if this white one would be the Type R then why does the seats and trunk say Si? Hmmm...

I am not sure about that. The last survey I saw showed that the Europeans had a slight preference for coupes over hatches, but the FG2 is supposedly just for the USDM.

I guess we'll find out shortly!

This is a concept vehicle showing what "tuners" might do to an Si. An R seems unlikely if you ask me. I believe the ITR will be the only R to make it to American shores. Maybe an SIR Civic or something similar but I wouldn't hold your breath.

Yup.

All of these car speculations about Type-Rs etc are making my head hurt, lol.

I think I will just not worry about it until some more solid info comes out from Honda or something.

oh and as for those pics, looks nice. Interesting what they did with the interior but Im not sure if I like it. I love those wheels though.

I like it. The interrior is a lil much, but the outside is pretty agressive. Id have to go with an 8 out of 10 on this one

Interior looks like it just got out of West Coast Customs..(did HONDA send their car to PIMP MY RIDE? ) but exterior is very clean.. Looks kind of like an RSX with that spoiler.

I still haven't figured out why anyone would want leather in a performance oriented car.

Yeah, that car is nothing more than a Honda R&D Concept car for SEMA. It's not the next CTR.

yup he has got it right, and for some of you that cant read, the new civic type r will most likly be the 5 door hatchback that they showed at one of the german auto shows (i am probably totally wrong on that one!)

why would they make a type r a coupe, when it has always been a hatch!

EVERONE READ THIS!!!!! ( THEY HAVE ALL BEEN HATCHES)
EK9 ( IS A HATCH)
DC2 ( IS A HATCH)
DC5 (IS A HATCH)
EP3 (IS A HATCH)
NEW CIVIC TYPE WILL DEFINETLY BE A HATCH!!!!

i think you need to make a new forum for the new FG'S i am getting sick of these "oh wow the new civic is so cool!!"

as you can tell i am pretty defensive when people are talking about the FG'S in a dc5/ep3 forum!!!1

no they wouldn't. the only people that would by a POS like that would be ricers on honda-tech. the general public doesn't want a 10-year old chassis with looks to match. keep dreamin'...

OK, I didn't really mean this was a Type R.

I just meant it was a "partial answer" to the quest for more.

The Enhanced HFP parts look good, including the wing. And I'm sure they won't really want you to have an interior that's half red.
