what piston dohc zc
what pistons are in the dohc zc? are they the p29? or the pm7 and what are the differences and what headgasket is better the y8 or z6 and is it good to run 14.1 compression on the street? i think thats alittle much

Ok, First of all, the USDM D16A1, commonly known as the "ZC", uses the P29 pistons. The JDM ZC uses PM7. They are pretty much the same to my knowledge. The D16Y8 headgasket is a thin metal headgasket that is probably a good idea to anyone who has had to scrap a stock D16A6 headgasket!! 14:1 is not good unless you have the valve train to support it, rods that can handle it, you can't just slap in those pistons and headgasket and expect not to do anything else you'll find yourself back in side that motor in a short period of time, Not to mention a high octane gas. Here's a lil compression calculator to play with. http://www.knology.net/~jediklc/D.htm
what about 13.1 or 13.6 compression, i want to get the head built but not right now just going to slap a crower stage 2 cam in there..
what rod bearings a rings would i get, well the rings would be the pm7 or the p29 ring set. but what rod bearing im going to use the stock rods. the pm7
and what is a good way to clean up the pistons.

no...only on a sohc zc...

i've taken apart 2 USDM d16a1 88-89 engines and both contained pm7 pistons, not p29.
p29 is the code used for the OBD1 JDM DOHC ZC, so my guess is that it is the engine that contained the p29 pistons and they just replaced the pm7 part number (when you call acura and ask for 88-89 pistons, they give you p29s, even though the engines came with pm7)

i look all my parts lastnight and the pistons are pm7's so the rings i would get are the p29 rings. what rod bearings would i get?. I want a sort new block and how can I get the compression down to 12.1 different types of hg's. cause with the z6 hg the comression would be 13.6 the a6 headgasket would be 13.1 but i dont think i can use the a6 gasket because of the oil sprayer in the block.
I ordered a set of 88-89 Integra pistons...I don't remember what the code was, but they were physically the same as the old ZC pistons I found for comparison. There is one difference though...the jdm dohc zc pistons had a moly coat on the skirt.
The Integra pistons were bare.
I later found supporting documentation in the Honda online JDM Factbook for this information.

im trying to get some answers..
SOHC D16 with DOHC ZC pistons (PM7 or P29) with Z6 head and A6 gasket will give you compression ratio of 11.66:1 - with Y8 or Z6 gasket, it will be 12.03:1 - with 2 layer Y8 gasket, it will be 12.46:1 - if head or block deck is milled, compression ratio will go up
