So you put in aftermarket spark plugs and now they wont cover you.. Well it sucks but technically they can do that since your spark plugs are technically aftermarket.
And warrany void can happen if the aftermarket item has contributed to the problem. In this situation technically the aftermarket spark plugs "could" have caused the fuel misfiring. Since fuel is detonated by the spark plugs.
In Acura's defense they would want you to replace the spark plugs so they can find the the exact problem. So if you want get the stock spark plugs and have them diagnose it once again. Honestly $170.00 dollars sounds very fair to me if they will honor your warranty on the car.
To be honest if you dont want to pay the 170, and they find out its something else your will want that warranty back.
It will cost you more in the long run.
Care to mention which spark plugs you installed?
