Meh... the only cars I can see bringing something to the table w/a FWD V6 is maybe some VW w/ a VR6+ turbo on it. I think everyone has gotten over the Ford Probe GT and the Taurus SHO this point

I dont think so...it kinda sucks now b/c now you have to spend more money on safety (not a bad thing)...most guys in the 10s run at least 135 or close so now they need a full cage.
and now those oil containment devices which no one makes. (from what I know)
...lots of money...

they have always been allowed - competitors like chris green for instance have never chosen to because of the tire size limit with the amount of torque they make

i have a feeling that Mazworx will be coming out with a pan for resale for a b series and potentially more applications here shortly

and the fact that he is running a fuel cell kinda boots him out.

diest makes a catch pan diper for hondas and they are affordable, i like the idea because it will keep the racing surface clean and wont slow down the whole process....
p.s. they should have this rule for the bracket cars, they soil everything because most of the peeps in this class dont care if they blow up ......

I don't know. James Innes Racing has been known to rock a Ford SHO a time or two....

Yeah the VR6 is the likely car to be in this class and competitive.
Problem is, engine location limits turbo size. SEMA is showing a 550hp twin turbo VR6 DOHC Jetta.
Most of the problem is getting the weight down in a Jetta or Golf.
I'm sure something could be done with a Mazda MX-6 or Ford Probe, those are available pretty cheap.
Also Intense has a 10 second FWD Turbo Grand Prix. It has wheelie bars tho, but properly built GM platform could be competitve....

lol, and you know this !!!!
you can't go wrong - $1500 for a car that you can beat the hell out of for a couple of months and take down s2000's with 3 other people on board and then sell for $2k, man, those were the days - before all this responsbility
although - someone needs to get dwight from stage 6 on the phone - he has turbo'ed a taurus SHO before, there is all your R&D for the class killer right there

from what I gather we can make our own catch pan..just must have 1 inch "walls" to contain oil and parts in the event of breakage..gives me a cool idea..

SFWD is supposed to be a street class, how many cars run or can run daily with a diaper? I might run a event or two but if they impose that rule it's gonna limit alot of people like me who just want to run their street car.

I will be working on an undereside belly pan hear shortly... I hope to have configurations made for the del sol's, eg's, and ek's... I will let you all know how things go in the next few months.....
They just announced another rule at SEMA, i just got a call. 66mm turbo limit for guys in Utah and for some reason they said nobody is allowed to post dyno numbers with more than a 1.04 correction factor...
