upon installing an ls motor, i noticed an extra harness plug. im not sure if it should have another end to plug into, or if it theres not need for it.
my car is a 94 civic, and the motor is an ls obd2 convert to obd1. (per the seller of the motor).

 

hm....kinda reminds me of a resistor box plug. what motor was in your eg before the ls swap?

 

it is a resistor box plug, it splices out of the power spread block the plug with the cap on it. from the looks of it its wired for Peak and Hold injectors, which is a good thing. just get a resistor box from a 92-96 prelude for example and yer set

 

it was a stock dx motor. i upgraded to the ls motor, and the motor seemed like it was boosted before

so... i should just cap it since i wont be using this. correct? and what is a resistor box?

if it was on boost it prolly ad peak and hold injectors, most high performance big injectors are peak and hold, for which you need a resistor box.

what siz injectors do the LS motors come with. if their in the 270 area then get prelude SI H23 injectors. those will work with that setup. also get a prelude resistor box. and your set to go.

 

Hey. That connector is for a resistor box. You don't need a resitor box. Don't worry about that little connector. You should run the STOCK injectors that came with your LS engine. They work best with the STOCK ECU, STOCK intake manifold...you get my drift. Anyway, just tuck the connector away and if you ever decide to upgrade your injectors (because of turbocharging, etc) then you will have the ability to use Peak-and-Hold Injectors along with a Resistor Box.

To sum it up:
There are two types of fuel injectors: Saturated (the kind that came with your LS Engine) and Peak-And-Hold (seen in most 92-96 H22 Preludes.)

If you want to use a peak-and-hold injector, you will need to plug in a resistor box to that little grey plug. You shouln't need to put Prelude injectors in there, as they have a flow rate of 340cc/min instead of your stock rate of 270cc/min. Your car would run rich on prelude injectors.

you don't need that plug, put the cap back in and leave it alone...

when i bought the motor, it didnt come with a cap. so i guess i'll have to find some grommet to cap it.
