Probably because they were stock on a non-Honda and have an offset that most Honda kids won't use.
But for $400 why not take them and do something different?

i'm currently running 20-40 offset with no problem.

4x100 is a normal VW pattern. Ronal Turbo's (R10's) are only made in 3 lug patterns, all of which are 4-lug. Not exactly a rare wheel in the VW crowd, but more of a rarity for Hondas.
