How much for a prelude 5th gen DC2 conversion?
I know alot of people are against the integra lights on a prelude, but whatever I think it ******* looks CLEAN. How much you think that would cost cause im planning to do it and I need a ballpark figure of howmuch money I need.. maybe two guesses, one if I just do the dc2 headlights without the ITR hood and bumper.. and one with them on??
Might not look that bad if done cleanly, but it's quite a difference in terms of styling. The 5th gen 'lude has really tall, boxy headlights, versus the somewhat long, slender JDM DC2 lights. I think it would be a lot of work to make it look clean, as in, major fender modifications, hood modifications, etc.
I've seen the JDM headlight conversion on 3 Preludes (1-4th gen, and 2-5th gens). They were hot conversions on both body styles.
The 4th gen conversion didn't cost as much as the 5th gen conversions. On the 4th gen, the fenders had to be shaved slightly, and the center of the bumper cover had to be trimmed. Other than that, brackets had to be fabbed, and wiring had to be converted. My guess would be that cost about $900 for the lights, and another $300 for labor, if that.
The 5th gen conversion must have been quite a bit more. The hood needs custom work, as do the fenders, and the bumper covers. I'll try looking for pics on H-T, I know they are out there. If I had to guess on this for the 5th gen: $900 for lights, $2000 for labor and paint....if not more.
