1989 Accord - Buzzing noise under carb...
I've searched your archives and did not find what I was looking for...
My car specs are in my sig. After startup (obviously) I'm getting this loud buzzing noise from the area under the carb. By the time I've driven the 15 miles to or from work, it's gone.
It's behind the valve cover, but not "under" the valve cover. My first thought was a lifter tick. I determined today that that isn't it. It's coming from the front side of the carb or lower... kinda in the intake manifold area. It speeds up and slows dow a little sometimes. I can't remember if it's in relation to the RPM's. Also, my choke has been sticking and pushing the RPM's up to about 3K within the first couple minutes after startup also. Plus, there is a little misfiring going on in the first couple minutes also. I've already replaced the plugs with NGK's a few days ago and my new cap (Bosch), rotor (Bosch), and wires (NGK) arrived today. I will install them tomorrow. Could there be a relation?
Whatever the problem is I'd like to fix it. I'm no stranger to turning a wrench, but this is the only carbed motor I've had in a long time. All it's needed until this point was regular routine maint. I like to take care of my Honda because she takes care of me. Thanks in advance!

Sounds like the Air Suction Valve since they get noisy some times. You may want to look around 3GEEZ and you will find more answers to most problems for your car than you will here.
