Tried the comptech website? I didn't think so. That makes YOU a "stereotypical HT: S2000 forum post."

Don't come at people all froggy; no princesses here.

Alright, sue me...

http://www.comptechusa.com/store/s2-sc.html

290 - 310 rwhp.

Here's my question to regulars - those who have used this application for awhile now, any long term issues? If so, are you using the aftercooled application? Anyone running it with a stock clutch?

I've heard the first few kits Comptech sold had some issues with heat near redline, but that's about it.

I wouldn't even think of running it without the aftercooler on a stock block. With that money, I'd rather go turbo.

put it this way... you can get the comptech supercharger for:

$4650 without the aftercooler
$5150 with the aftercooler

this is only a $500 difference..

if you end up buying the aftercooler later on down the road seperately it'll cost you $1100....

so why not just buy the kit with the aftercooler and save yourself $600 bucks that you can put into an aftermarket clutch/flywheel combination (which you'll want to do if you get a supercharger)

i haven't heard any complaints from owners about the superchargers other then the belts needing tightening once in a while (which is normal maintenance.)

I haven't come across a turbo application that's legal in CA (yet). I've also heard Comptech's having delays with CARB approval for the aftercooler, so I'd pay the extra $100.00 later for peace of mind.

By my calculations it's $100.00 more (vs. the kit) to buy it separately or at a later time. Am I missing something?

$4650 for supercharger kit (without aftercooler)... + $1100 for aftercooler (when bought seperately at a later time) = $5750

$5150 for supercharger kit + aftercooler (buying together as a package)..

$5750 - $5150 = $600

Where are you getting your numbers from? Am I just looking at the wrong site?

http://www.comptechusa.com/store/s2-sc.html

Aftercooled complete kit: $5995.00
Base kit plus aftercooler: $4895.00 + $1200.00 = $6095.00

Also worth noting that Turbo kits will require a new exhaust (usually not quote din price of kit), whereas a comptech s/c can bolt straight on.

Not necesarily. I could bolt a stock exhaust on my LoveFab kit, no cat, but it wouldn't be very fun.
