Default clunking noise

ok sometimes when im going 20 to 30 mph i hear a clunking noise repetedly for a short while and then its gone and i was wondering if it could be my break pads are loose or what my friend had this problem but hes got a dif car so im not sure thanks

Need more details, are you turning or driving straight when you hear this and where is the noise coming from. Could be anything, from a loose spare tire to a bad CV joint to a loose heat shield.

o sorry its when im going straight and it seems to be coming from the front of the car around the wheel base
