Default 5th gear options for a cable B16 trans?

I'm just wondering if anyone would happen to know if there is a taller (numerically smaller) 5th gear available for the cable B16 trans. Of course it would need to be OEM, not aftermarket and no machining required...

Thanks,
Bryson

Ahh. Yeah, I kinda assumed that would work. Would I need a early cable LS trans, or which one specifically?

I had a LS 5th in my YS1 GSR and it sucked. Switched over to 95 and up spec GSR 5th gear. Much better option IMHO

Why did it suck?

Too much of a drop from 4th to 5th?

Yup. I got the part #s, and orderd them up from acura automotive parts. Since they came right up, hopefully they have it in stock. If not, its no biggie...

Will do!

Hopefully now, I can drive my CRX on the highway without my ears ringing, or without getting into boost with the wrong 2mm movement of my foot...

dude! you've been here for three years and haven't seen this thread??

Both Raene and I are rocking the LS fifth, and have been for a few years now!

I'd like to know where you ordered that LS fifth from, since our Honda parts guys told us that there are none left at all!

yeap, the drop from 4th to 5th was a downer as I dropped out of VTEC. Maybe with 4.785 FD it would work but with 4.4 and 15" rims

So yeah. I got a call back from the dealer saying that they couldn't find any of the gears...

It's funny how its still online, but no one has it.

Junkyard time.

You could probably put a post on here and get a set.
I was able to get them from another member.
I ended up throwing the syncro gear away and ordering another.
Only one of the gears is out of production. (At least that was the case 3 years ago)
The swap is pretty straight forward.
I like having the final drive.
I don't have a problem with the change in gear.
I have used it even at 25 mph in my neighborhood with no problem.
RPM is about 4000 at 80mph.
Good luck with your search.
