Default minime swap instead of stock

My motor went up in my 91 CRX SI and I have been diligently looking for an engine that is a direct bolt in or one that bolts in with little to no modifications here in the hampton roads Virginia area. My mechanic told me to either get the d16a6 or a ZC motor and I haven't been able to find either. I found a guy who has a z6 bottom end with a Y8 head. He says it's a minime swap. I'm trying to find out what it will take to make this swap work. What will the difference be in power from the original d16a6?

Thanks for your help

z6 bottom and y8 head isnt mini me. a mini me is a non vtec block with a vtec head. if you were to bolt that y8 on your d16a6 bottom that would be a mini me. and it doesnt take much. get wiring conversion from http://www.rywire.com then 4 wire o2 and dizzy and your set oh use your old injectors to keep yoru resistor box. you can find a zc here and many other motors like the d15b vtec also cheap http://www.hmotorsonline.com

well a z6 bottom and y8 top isnt a minime, a minime is taking a bottom froma non vtec motor and putting a vtec head on it.

either way, this setup will yield about 9.69:1 compression, a little higher than stock, so it should be a little peppier than a standard z6.

you will need to be able to control vtec somehow, either with a ghetto rpm switch and a vafc or by converting to obd1. i recommend converting to obd1 and runnnig p28 maps, it will run better and get close to the amount of power you need. but it will cost a bit

obd1 conversion harness - $115
chipped ecu - $105
obd1 dizzy - $50-$150(used or new)
4 wire o2 sensor - $50
