Am I driving the wrong car??
Just got back from a 1/4 mile race with a 95(?)2.2 celica gt(headers/intake/exhaust). I drive a supercharged 99 prelude boosting 8psi(headers/exhaust/intake/injectors/rail/regulator/hondata etc etc..)
Head to head of the line and in the end I was lucky to win by a car length.
Two days ago I raced a 96? neon 2.2(intake/headers) and one won by 1/2-2 car lengths.
Is there something Im missing here? Shouldnt I just be smoking these cars?
My car has been street tuned and is going to the dyno this weekend. Could it be that it is just way out of tune? Why is it , if I didnt have a jrsc, that this celica and possibly the neon would be ******* me?, seeing as the engines are more or less the same size/wegiht?

wow that sucks, i have a 98 base that will smoke just about any i have come across, and all i have are intake, header, flywheel, and untuned VAFC. if you didn't get it tuned when you got the jrsc, that could be you problem.

You should be smoking them no problem. Check out your engine man. What time were you running anyways? And reaction?

The year was a guess because I know its a DOHC 2.2. It must have been newer. Im not saying the car is slow, and I dont expect to wip STis but it makes me wonder.
I bought the car with the JRSC and it has only bees street tuned,. Its going to the dyno for tuning on Sat.

Dude, watch your information, its not correct.. Reaction time has NOTHING to do with raw 1/4 mile times, it does make a difference on who make its down to the end first though as you stated earlier..
Plus, your car is NOT bone stock if it is altered anyway from stock, which it is..
And for the poster, your car just plain isn't running right. Get it dyno tuned by a reputable tuner..
