Default Intermidiate shaft problem?

my intermidiate shaft and my driver side axle moves in and out when i spin the tire in the air. I'm not sure what's going on with that, any ideas?..Isn't the bracket on the intermiditate shft suppose to hold that shaft from moving up and down, in and out?..i know my axles are not broken cause there's no clicking when i turn. My axle nut has not moved from it's original place...need help ASAP...thx...

This is a 2000 civic si b16,similar to most engines with a midshaft.

There is a circlip (#25) that holds it in place. My guess is the clip has failed and/or the bearing is toast.
