Default my first downpipe and dump tube

I made my first downpipe and dump tube last night. figured id throw some pics up for opinions and i have a question.

How bad of an idea would it be to route the dumptube back into the exhaust (underneath or a little behind the oilpan) witout any flex pipe? I think i know the answer, but wondering if its that big of a deal. I cant weld stainless

The answer your going to get is you need A flex pipe for expansion reasons,
but looks good for your first time. Your just now getting that car back together, what did you go with A whole new setup?

pretty much. Whole new rebuild. Plus i almost broke my back a few months ago and had surgery, so that really put the car out of the picture. Its just about done though

Is there anywhere you can buy a 1 1/2" flex pipe?

Thats funny because I had back surgery a few months ago also.

I don't know anybody local for that flex pipe.

i guess i could maybe put the flex pipe on the 3" then route the dumptube back into it afterwards, but i not sure how good that would work.

a little $150 110volt gas welder my dad picked up a few years ago (its like a 'Powermig' or something like that). If i took my time and cleaned the pieces and sat down to weld them, i know i could do alot better, but i just sit em on the floor, hold em with my foot, and go at it

then should i do two, one for inbetween the wastegate and the downpipe (in the dumptube), then a 3" on the back end of the downpipe, or will just the one in the dumptube be sufficient?

i don't seewhy you would need a flexpipe for the dump. the way i see it: mani connected to turbo, turbo to dp, and dump to dp. all moves as one unit. its not like the dp to exhaust connection where the engine (and turbo components) are moving independently of the exhaust.

my spoolinperformance setup is routed to the dp right before the oilpan. it is a 2 piece.

there is the elbow from the wg and then a straight section welded to the dp. the elbow from the wg slips into the straight section welded to the dp and held together with a ceepy exhaust clamp from pepboys.

what did i tell you about jerking off alot? that **** caught up with you didnt it. hehe

that looks really good, especially the welds for a mig. I'd leave the dumptube open, gain more horsepower... not to mention with the thickness of the metal you are using it should be quiet because most of the noise comes from the dumptube resonating

about that.... - reaches for the cleanup rag-...

since noone knows where to get a 1 1/2" flex, does anyone know where to get allen head bolts for the dp? I read somewhere thats what to use since putting a 3" pipe on that flage just about blocks the bolt holes. Some people also said they had to dent in the pipe to make it fit... any info or pics?
Thanks for the replys so far
