Default accord coupe 3.0i V6 auto transmission

Hi. In the UK, the US built 3.0i V6 accord is relatively rare. Mine has done 120K miles without a fault, but has recently developed a transmission problem. I have changed the ATF fluid every 25K using genuine Hinda fluid. Recently, I noticed that when going down hills, the gearbox would slam into 4th gear sometimes rather than change smoothly. I changed the fluid and noticed the usual heavy metalic deposits around the magnetised drain bolt, which I cleaned away. The problem persisted however, and I have recently found that the gears will also sometimes appear to "slip" when changing from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd under acceleration. This doesn't always happen, but when it does it just seems as though the gears are slipping and then clunk...everything locks up properly.

I am not an expert on autos by any means, but the changes seem to be signalled correctly and so I am convinced its not a control problem. The gearbox (D4) light has not flashed in error at any time. I suspect it could be low oil pressure from the
hydraulic pump. I have heard that there is an internal filter, which I have not replaced. Could this be the cause? Is the filter easy to replace? what do you think it could be and what do you recommend.......would be very grateful of your help.
