i have a 88 dx hatchback i did mpfi swap and put a d15b6 motor in it when i try to start it it doesnt want to start i got gas and spark but it still doesnt start when i turn it over for like 8 seconds the engine light comes on and its code 9 i checked the block and the head over and over they are both perfect but i still get no. 1 cylender position code what could be the problem??????

 

do you have Si or HF distributor on it? D15 distributor does not have a Cylinder Position Sensor (code 9)

 

i think its a si distributer but im not sure it came with the motor if they dont have CPS then why does it thorw that code?? or why is it not starting
