Default ebrake is tight but does not slow car

did a rear disc swap, used all 91 crx si parts, and e brake cables.
anyway, i adjusted the e brake cable tight so that it has tension when its up just a couple clicks and its very hard to pull. very hard to pull up and when its up it does little to stop the car from moving.

it does hold the car in place to a degree when its parked but its totally incapable of producing any kind of braking under motion.

why is this? are my ebrake cables shot?

e-brakes are not designed to slow a car down although it should at least slow the car a little. It could be possible that your e-brake cables are stretched. for a proper adjusted e-brake you should at least be able to click it 6 times. other than that I would make sure that you have good brakes in the rear unless you already changed them. good luck.

When I did my swap and did the legendary first run, my brakes weren't working so I had to use e-brake. I had to pull it as hard as I could to stop the car, even though it would hold it in place just fine. I guess it all comes down to the fact that its hard without power brakes. It took me forever to go from 50-0.

you need to really jack it up to make it slow the car.... slowly pulling it won't work.
