just took head off - please read, need some advice
engine is a d16a6
just took my heade off b/c the lady i bought the car off of said that it needed a head gasket. well, the hg is like new(didnt even stick to the head or block?!?!), with one exception. one of the rear head bolt holes(the one nearest the timing belt) was kinda pinched on the edge of the hole, the water jecket area directly underneath that bolt hole had white residue(dust kinda) which means it was losing/burning coolant right? which is why the car would over heat after driving it for a few.
i am taking the head to my local machine shop in the morning so he can check the head and resurface it if necessary. four of my valves were sticking out a bit after the head came off, should i be concerned? any positive feedback would be great.
ps i can taker pics if anyone would like to help me that much i just cant host the pics. thanks

four valves were sticking out the surface? was the cam still in the head? if not that migh be a problem!
yea, head was complete including cam. i didn't set the motor at tdc before removing though. i am just going to do it before installing new belt and h2o pump.

your fine if the cam was in even if you are on tdc there will be at least one cam will be opening up the valves for that cylinder.
