where would you go with?
es masterkit or prothane total kit.
want to hear if sb. had negative rule of thumb with one of these
and i´m interested in long time experiences with mechanical stress.

I bought the ES mater kit for my 92 civic from a local auto parts store and half of the kit was for the 88-91 civic. I took them back to my local auto parts store and ordered them directly from ES. Once I got the right kit I was please with them. The install is straight forward and they seem to be good quality.
Sorry my install is fairly recent so I don't have long term for you. By the way getting them direct from ES is the way to go. $122 shipped. Let us know what you go with and how you liked them.

I haven't really had any problems with my ES kit after 4 years of heavy duty use. The claim that they last longuer than OEM is bullshit but for the price it's still a nice alternative.
Prothane I can't really comment other than they seem quite a bit harder than ES.

My ES bushings started to squeek after about 6 months. Just lube them back up, and I was on my way.

Do you have the red or black bushings? The black are supposed to be self lubricating so I am curios to see which ones you have.

i already have a prothane total kit lying around in my garage waiting for installation. i shot them at ebay for a good price a while ago. they seem to be very hard....
the issue of my question is that i have to order some rear trailing arm bushes from es to have the kit completed.
if there are some people which gained bad experiences driving the prothane stuff i will take the chance to order a master kit (perhaps the black one) too and throw the total kit back at ebay....
are there any differences in "stiffness" (lol, i know your real meaning of the word...) between the red and the black es bushes?

The only difference is the impregnated graphite. Red is the original, and more for showcars. All the bushings in my 88-91 master kit have ~6 grooves (run parallel with bolt) that hold the lube. I bought their lube thinking the kit had none - kit had 11 small tubes and I think 1 mini tub of it

Honestly I don't think you'll want the suspention that much harder than ES, since at a certain point it will start to bind. On a trailer queen I won't argue, but not a street car. Another thing about the rear trailing arm main bushings - ES reuses the metal bracket. The way this bushing is the pivit point for camber, toe, and normal travel, it needs to 'give' some. ), I might be checking out that rear bushing sometime soon.
