Default Can someone tell me what this is on my 96 Prelude S?

Hello. I was wiping down my engine bay on my 96 Prelude S (F22A1), and came across some type of hose or tube that looks like it broke off some where. I was looking to see if I could find another piece that it was possibly attatched to, but I didn't find anything. Here are some pics. Some of them, I marked the broken piece in red. Thanks.

Im assuming you unpluged that from your OEM intake tube correct? I think it has somethin to do with your vacume @ idle and when you have the AC on. This sounds like a really primitive response but I really dont know what its called.

I unpluged that from my stock intake when I put my replica J's in and then I plugged it and my idle started surging when i had the AC on and it was pretty bad when it was off too. I'd just leave the hose there or you can take the hose off and let the nipple suck air. I've had mine like that for a while w/no problems.

Im sure someone can answer your question better tho.

Thanks for the reply. The car actually had the aftermarket intake on when I purchased it. I understand that originally it was plugged into the OEM intake tube. If I switch my intake back to OEM, do I need to plug it back in?

Yes, otherwise you'll have a hole in your intake which may suck in dirt

not necessary to plug back in, but necessary to put a plug on the stock bung.
