i thought this was easy... look at a popcorn in a popcorn machine.. and tell me what its doing... that will be you inside your car with tein ss coilovers on the street. in other words you'll be catching air in your seat on the highways, and you will be banging your head on the headliner on the street. this is from experience. the valving/springs on the tein ss is not good causing the "popcorn" effect.

went from tein ss to tein flex to now using buddy club racing specs. tein flex is a way better set up than the ss but its expensive and you can drop the car down to 1" over the tires if you wanted to. and the valving is better so the "popcorn" effect is gone. i sold my flex only because i got a good deal on the buddy club racing specs.

dont get the cheap d2, omni, or the tein ss. buddy club came out with a brand new coilover system that is priced for the general enthusiast. orginial cost is around $1,100 and theres a sponsor selling them for about $850.00 and you can lower these passed the tires... just do a search for buddy club n+ and im sure the groupbuy will show up... but hurry i think it ends this month...

with the flex you can tuck your car 1" over the tire? what about the Buddy Club Racing Spec how low can you get them.. which suspention has a better feel Tein Flex or Buddy Club Racing Spec
On JHPUSA.com buddy clubs racing specs $1,100 and tein Flex $1,300 and Buddy Club N+ for $1,000 i would rather spend the 100 bucks more on the racing spec if there much better

the buddy clubs will drop the same as the flex. the buddy clubs have stiffer springs so the ride is much more firmer then the flex, but the popcorn effect is not there in both setups. with the stiffer spring rates, the dampening can be set softer and the to let the springs do their job on the buddy club. the flex your kinda limited due to the spring rates so the adjusting dial will be around the 4-5 range to get the stiffer effect. where as the buddy clubs it will be closer to soft most of the time on the street. this is just my experiece and yours/others maybe different.
but what ever you decide stick with the flex, the racing specs or the n+ type setups. and i would not even think of using d2, omni, or other brand.

i dont know what cxshoe had his tein ss on. i had them on my ek and i thought they were pretty damn good for the streets..it just depends on what your using them for. they're really good coilovers if your using them on a daily driver and they are worth the money.. i had mine tucking just past the top of the rim all around..i dont get why soo many people dislike these coilovers..maybe there just not adjusting them right..lol..i mean there are some better coilovers out there around the same price..but these are nice too

i had tein ss (with integra spring rates) on a 93 cx at the time. i lowered the car to tein specs which is about 1" gap. i also preloaded the springs to lesson the "bouncy"effect, and i spent about 3 months driving around town and adjusting them and i could not find a decent setup for the street. it was either too soft or too stiff. the coilovers were no blown and were in brand new condition.
i sold those to get the flex, and lowered the car 3" with no finger gap. preloaded the springs, and i was able to find my sweet spot in 3 days of driving around.
so not sure if i just got a bump ss unit or what. but there are more than enough similiar complaints in the archive on the tein ss being too bouncy and lack of true adjustability to ones liking.
but like i said everyones feel is different.
