DIZZY STILL LEAKS, AFTER NEW O-RING?!?! HELP!
hey you guy....this problem is killing me! i recently just change the oring on the distributor because small amounts of oil started to drip from the bottom of the dizzy...So i figured it was time to replace the oring and the leak will stop? But after i changed it...it still continues to leak any ideas? Could it be that the oring i got wasnt for the dizzy i was told it was? anyone know how i can identify what dizzy i have, like # on it or anything? ANY HELP WOULD GREAT BE APPRECIATED!!!
its could possibly be the o-ring is wrong, but where was the leak coming from? was there a trail of oil from the o-ring down the block? or just oil where the distributor mounts to the cap, because the seal inside the distirbutor will leak sometimes. take off the cap and look inside for oil.
oh no the inside is fine...it's comin from where u plug in the distributor into the side of the head...thats where its leakin down from and i just got a new oring from the acura dealer since i gotta 97 gsr...
Are you possitive its still leaking? If some got out while changing it, the addition of dirt while it spreads make it look like a terrible leak. Wipe it off, drive it for a bit, jack up the driver's side (or park that way), and check it in the morning. Otherwise use some liquid gasket material so it seals yet allows future adjustability.

yea man im sure its still leaking....and it bothering the expletive out of me! is there anyway i can determind what distributor it really is? maybe i have the wrong oring for the dizzy because i was told it was a 97 gsr?
What about oil leaking under the last cam cap? Supposed to be sealant under that last cam cap, to prevent leakage thru the crack between the cam cap & the head itself.
Then again, the VTEC spool valve isn't TOO far away. Maybe the leak is really coming from there? But that's usually confused with the exhaust cam bore seal.

nope its not from there i can clearly see if dripping from the bottom bolt from the distributor! So today i took the whole head apart to see the if theres any gaps that may have caused this leakage therefore my dizzy isnt gettin put in all the way....and for some reason my dizzy input where u plug into the intake cam whole is to long....causing my dizzy to stick out farther, so it prevents the oring from sealing any kind of oil from passing by! any ideas on what distributor i might have because a regular gsr shouldnt have a problem fitting?

Got the O-ring placed incorrectly, so it blocks the distributor from going in all the way?
Also... Check how clean & smooth is the bore where the O-ring seals against. Same thing about the groove in the distributor base.
I don't know about changes to that end of the distributor, for different years. But a '97 GSR engine would have a block serial # starting with 4 (if you wanna check).
