Default Headlight delay.

I have an '87 Accord LX. Whenever I get in my car for work each morning (or whenever it's been sitting overnight, etc). I'll go to turn on my headlights, they will pop up, my dash/parking lights will come on but my headlights don't.

They eventually come on, but sometimes it can take a couple of minutes. What could the problem be?

Could be some sticking contacts in the h/l switch. Should be easy to check with an ohm meter.

True, you could be another victim of the 'Honda hardening Monkey Snot (grease) two step'. Seems the Assembly Lube they use in their switch assemblies is good for about 10 to 12 years, until it starts waxing - causing things like w/wipers and h/light switches to start f&^&*% up.

Try blowing hot air from a hair dryer on the switch b4 you turn them on. If they come on immediately, you're due for a switch.

Sounds good, is there anything else I can do.

That will give you the go-no go test you need to finger the switch. It's a pretty straightforward system.
