Default Post your Ghetto/Homemade Intake's here>>

This is the true ghetto intake setup. Here is my old 91 4dr lx with d16y7 and DPFI

I used a eg intake pipe with a ek lower pipe to make a ghetto intake. I put rubber fittings and pvc underneath the fittings to make them connect to each other.

That looks good compared to mine.

Ill try to find a picture, but mine now is the stock ZC pipe followed by flex hose to bend around the battery, followed by some plastic tubing, then the filter. I'll try to post a pic of what it was when I first bought the car.

edit: the day I bought the car:

I'll try to post a pic of current setup if I can find one.

Heres mine

It was made out of PVC from home depot. They elbows were spray painted blue. I probably spent 20 dollars on this. I acually did notice a very slight performance increase.

Heres mine. Only cost was the filter and a little piece of pipe. No need for supercold intake pipes. This works great also. And i think i have to figure something new, when i install a B18C engine.

I use the stock airbox and removed all the restrictive piping up front but used home A/C ducting with 3 aluminum splints held on by metal bands and duct tape for rigidity. K&N filter in the stock airbox. It has a nasty growl now, and only cost me for the filter. I had everything else in a spare parts box in the garage.

hell yea. its fun coming up with ideas for a ghetto intake.

i had made a 2" pvc coldair intake before this one. bought the pvc from homedepot and went to work. didnt really notice a gain, but it was quite loud though.
