I have a valve vover id like to powercoat bronze/gold. I'd like to know and see how you guys have done yours, what would be my best route? I have heard painting it would just chip off and not look that well. What are you thoughts???Thank you..
I painted mine, and yes it can chip etc... but only if it gets abused. leave it alone and don't drop tools, etc... on it and you'll be fine. If I wanted to drop $50+ on it I'd powdercoat it.

IM trying to figure it out what to do and what kind paint to use on the valve cover.. Im curious about if regular paint will damage or crack for the heat excessive.. I need more info..

I used "Aircraft Paint Remover" to strip the original finish of the valvecover. I then used "Universal Gold High Temp Paint". I applied very light and even coats. In order to keep the letters chrome, apply vaseline to them so the paint won't stick to them. I bought the paint remover and the gold spray paint at Pep Boys.

Powder coat will outlast paint, but powder coating is more exspensive. What it comes down to is whether you want to spend money for a valve cover to look pretty for the life of the valve cover, or would you rather spend less money several times to keep repairing your painted cover. Tons of pics on my website, http://www.trgcoating.com. I'm a site sponsor so if you have any questions lemme know.
