Default Strut problem?

ok, so i went to get my car align'd. the place calls me and says that they can't align my car because the front right strut is blown out. they quote me $685 for one front right strut. i told them not to do anythnig to my car and i picked it back up.

WHY did they quote me so high?

i searched online (one website) and foudn the most expensive strut to be $75 now why the hell would they want me to pay $685.

anyways how hard is it for me to buy a new strut and put it on my car myself? prolly need a helms manual right?

They're a ******' rip-off!!!!

Struts are not that hard to change out, just make sure you have the helms and a spring compressor.

685!!!! what a ******' joke!

Seriously!

Check this thread, https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1106020 it's not hard. But like EK9 said, be sure to get a spring compressor if you arn't running coilovers.

You should get a written quote from them and then report their asses to the Better Business Bureau.

thanks guys, i wasn't about to pay for that anyways. in my lincoln i payed $450 for a full shocks/springs conversion kit installed.

I can't stand mechanics and especially the dicks at autozone, they all try and take advantage of younger guys as if they know nothing.

anyways i found all 4 tokico HP shocks for like $240 shipped on ebay. is this a good deal?
