this guy is right. hold the gas to the floor until it stops revving and then let off. (or you could just search
) once isnt going to hurt anything.
and btw, i think you mean rev limiter, since the redline is simply the red line on the tach, and the rev limiter is usally a couple hundred rpm above the red line.

Not to be off topic to you or anything but i have a 98 Dx civic and those don't have Tach either, i noticed you put one in your Cx. How hard was it, how did you do it?
Thanks
Thanks
I actualy JUST got Finished installing it (Like 10 minutes ago)
I personaly...Think it was hard. But also, that was the first time I had ever installed -anything-.
I also didn't have the huge manual, so if you have that to tell you wiring etc, you're pretty well off.
I had to unscrew all of the plastic by the steering wheel, I had to Drill holes in the plastic (Runing along the windshied). I had to feed the wires through one of the holes, and bolt the tach onto the other two holes. I had to feed the wires through the firewall (Two wires), ground one of them, and hook the other up to the negative ignition coil wire.
Had to run one wire to the ignition piece (had to find the right wire....there was 5 of them)
Then I tried to find the wire for my light in my dash...But I had no luck because there were wires everywhere...So I just mounted the "light wire" to the same place as the ignition wire (not the ignition coil wire).
...My tach light is on when my car is on....Not when my lights are on..
But that's okay...Bulbs are easy to replace...And maybe I'll look more to find that dash light wire.
Off and on, it took me 3 days to mount/wire the tach...
If I had the manual, and did it straight without stopping, it would've taken me...4 hours-ish
